The Enforcer Systems Security is an amalgamation of different systems, all working together as a complete unit.
This means that the various components have to communicate with each other constantly as well as with the management platform. Some of this communication is quite high level, for example the communication with the cameras is built on ONVIF, with media stream handled using RTSP and commands being sent via HTTP. Other modules have a lower level communication needs, such as the communication to the alarm components that is done using TCP/IP. However, the communication to the LVM is done at a lower level still, using 115 000 bps over a 3.3V TTL link. Surprisingly, despite handling some of these using a high frequency polling method and others using interrupts based method, the overall system works well.
